COMMUNITY IMPACT OF THE DGR
WEIGHING THE SOCIAL COST
The establishment of the proposed Nuclear Dump carries with it an enormous and permanent social cost and stigma for South Bruce that can never be erased once the first spent bundle of highly radioactive fuel is discarded in our community.
There will be no coming back. We as a community and all those future generations who call South Bruce home, will carry the very real social costs and stigma of being Canada's Nuclear dump site for an eternity.
The anticipated economic activity from 30 to 40 years of an active dump site is short lived when compared to the 1,000's of generations of people who will have to live with the liability of the site.
Please read important links about how this stigma will impact our community and how the prospect of this dump is already sowing the seeds of a negative impact for our agricultural sector.
