NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO WALK FOR OUR WATERWAYS

On September 1st, 2020 the Grassroots people of Saugeen # 258, Savant Lake and Mishkeegogamang will walk for our waterways in Northwestern Ontario.

We will walk as one to honour all Nibi (water). To speak and to pray to her great spirit for healthy rivers, lakes and oceans for future generations and our ancestors.

We will ask for strength and guidance as we defend and protect the water and the land from nuclear waste.

People from all nations, all walks of life, are welcome to join the walk.

IGNACE - SAY NO TO NUCLEAR WASTE IN NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO

Our friends in Ignace are engaged in a similar battle with the NWMO to prevent Nuclear waste disposal in their community.  Residents in South Bruce opposed to this dump stand in solidarity with our friends in Ignace and its surrounding communities.

Together we are strong!

South Bruce residents opposed to this dump and Protect Our Waterways - No Nuclear Waste stand in solidarity with the grass roots efforts of Ojibway Nation of Saugeen No. 258 & Mishkeegogamang.

We value this new friendship and seek to coordinate efforts to prevent nuclear waste from being dumped in our communities.

February 14, 2020 - APTN excerpt from article -

“The whole thing will fail, It might take, oh, a thousand years, whatever, but it will fail. Because no matter what kind of a container, no matter how solid that container, you put it into the ground, sooner or later it will rot and it will break. And whatever is in it will spread. You take a look at the swamps around here.

“There’s water there and one way or another, that water finds its way into a river system.”
